The Hammam Ritual — Ancient Moroccan Body Care

For over a thousand years, the Moroccan hammam
has been more than a place to wash.

It is a sacred ritual of purification, community,
and self care — where Moroccan women gather to
cleanse not just the body but the spirit. Where
skin is softened, dead cells are lifted away,
and the body is left glowing, renewed, and
completely transformed.

The hammam is where Moroccan beauty begins.

At Atlas Lumière we bring you the two
cornerstones of this ancient ritual —
exactly as they have been used in Morocco
for over a thousand years:

——————————————————

SAVON BELDI — THE BLACK SOAP

The first step of every hammam. Applied to
wet skin and left to soften and penetrate
for several minutes — dissolving dead skin
cells, unclogging pores, and preparing the
skin for deep exfoliation. Rich in olive oil
and vitamins E and F. The soap Moroccan
women have used for a thousand years.

——————————————————

KESSA GLOVE — THE EXFOLIATING MITT

The second step. Slipped onto the hand and
used to scrub the skin in long firm strokes —
lifting and rolling away dead skin visibly,
stimulating circulation, and revealing the
fresh glowing skin underneath. One session
with the kessa glove and you will never
use anything else.

THE COMPLETE RITUAL

01 — Soak in warm water 5–10 minutes
02 — Apply savon beldi generously
03 — Leave 3–5 minutes to soften skin
04 — Scrub with kessa glove in long strokes
05 — Rinse thoroughly with warm water
06 — Seal glowing skin with pure argan oil

The result — skin so soft, so clean, and
so luminous it has to be felt to be believed.

This is the hammam ritual.
This is Moroccan beauty at its purest.
This is Atlas Lumière.
